PennDOT Work Zone Has No Workers

It looks like a highway work zone, but where are the workers?

On a Sunday morning, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation shuts Interstate 80 down to one lane for 6 miles. PennDOT also lower the speed limit from 65 to 55 mph.

Yet as you can see in this dashcam video, no work is going on.

Granted, it’s 7 a.m. No one expects anyone to do highway construction work on a Sunday morning.

So why narrow a two-lane interstate highway down to one lane? If PennDOT posted signs explaining what was going on, it would be more understandable.

But without an explanation, PennDOT simply leaves motorists guessing why.

This work zone was in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. (I-80 Eastbound: Mile Markers 285.4 to 290.6)
